Electrical Engineer will be developing DC-AC inverter and DC-DC converter products for our flywheel energy storage systems. The ideal candidate has experience in power electronics circuit design for renewable energy, electric vehicle or industrial applications, and familiarity with field-oriented motor control concepts. The EE will be responsible for the full life cycle of design, development, testing and field support of power conversion, control and instrumentation hardware for flywheel systems. Experience taking a design from prototype to large-scale manufacturing is a big plus.

Required Experience and Skills

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 2 – 5 years experience
  • Expert in power, analog, and digital circuit design
  • Strong skills in magnetics design for inductors, transformers and actuators
  • Working knowledge of thermal management techniques
  • Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout for power electronics
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters and other tools in the specific context of high voltage and high power circuits

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • B.S., Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Knowledge of electric machine analysis and field-oriented control concepts
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded control systems
  • Proficiency with Altium design tools
  • Manufacturing ramp experience
  • Knowledge of UL and other agency approval requirements
  • Experience with HALT/HASS testing, reliability engineering
