Leading Japan’s power and energy industry to focus on renewables, Itochu Enex collaborates with Amber Kinetics to install long-duration flywheel systems at the Mystar Engineering Corporation site in Chiba, Japan and Kashiwa-no-ha Open Innovation Lab (KOIL) in Japan.

The Amber Kinetics installation is a groundbreaking project, being the first of its kind in the country. This partnership enriches Itochu Enex’s road to innovation as it utilizes the faculty of energy in fostering prosperous communities.

The flywheel system passed the test parameters and performed outstandingly, withstanding a 7.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred unexpectedly in Fukushima during the testing. No damage was done to the unit, a substantiation of Amber Kinetics flywheels’ ability to mitigate energy issues even during natural calamities.
